Dan's first release since 2016 has been slated for release on 1st June 2025. It's a song called Hands of Somebody Else that's been in Dan's set for a good few years. The upbeat track is juxtaposed with lyrics focusing on the current financial challenges that so many people are facing. Times are tough and so many young people are struggling with how to earn enough money to make ends meet. Dan sings about finding ways to make money, only to realise that by the time it comes in, it's already owed to someone else.
Tryin' ain't enough these days
Every time I find somethin' that pays
I'm giving it straight back out into the hands of somebody else
The songs production is currently very close to completion, having already been sent off for mastering with Michael White, who's credits include James Taylor, The Waterboys, Duran Duran and the one and only Prince. The track also features Chris Barber on drums and a full horn section provided by Samuel Da Silva (saxaphones) and Jon-Paul Frapier (trumpet &flugelhorn).
